KBC LEADERS PARTICIPATED IN THE INVESTMENT FORUM IN TAIWAN

On 04/07/2023 afternoon, at Le Méridien Taipei Hotel, Taipei City, Taiwan, the Forum "Northern Vietnam – A Strategic Destination For Global Expansion" was held by JLL Consulting Group (Asia-Pacific region) and Katina Kaixin Capital Partners Fund with the participation of 130 Taiwanese enterprises. KBC was invited to attend the Forum as a co-sponsor, and concurrently, KBC leaders participated as Speakers at the event.

In response to the New Southbound Policy and the diversification of overseas factory options of Taiwanese businesses, the leading JLL Consulting Group (Asia-Pacific region) and Katina Kaixin Foundation Capital Partners Fund jointly organized the Forum "Northern Vietnam - A Strategic destination for global expansion" to provide layout, solutions and communication bridge for companies planning to set up factories in the North of Vietnam.

This event was attended by representatives of big business leaders such as CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Asia Pacific, CEO of Greater China, CEO of KBC Group - a leading industrial park developer in North Vietnam. Nam, CEO of Katina Kaixin Capital, etc. Bac Ninh province was the only local representative of Vietnam invited to attend the Forum. In addition, the Forum also had the participation of 130 Taiwanese enterprises in the fields of electronic manufacturing, information technology, metal machinery, civil industrial production, chemical industry, etc. The Forum focused on industrial development trends in the North of Vietnam and shared experiences in setting up factories, and discussed in-depth about Foxconn and Taiwanese leading electronics manufacturers that have continuously invested in Vietnam in recent years. According to the representative of JLL Consulting Group, in 2023, the plan to set up factories of Taiwanese enterprises in Vietnam would not be affected by the recession of the global economy. Vietnam has a strategic location in the Asia-Pacific region, has joined 15 different free trade agreements with more than 50 countries around the world, creating a solid foundation for the Asian economy. Vietnam ranks 5th on the economic freedom index in Asia, has become one of the preferred investment destinations for FDI enterprises in recent years. The continuous investments of Global manufacturing corporations such as Foxconn, Canon, Samsung, etc have made Vietnam rank the 2nd position in ASEAN in terms of export volume of electronic products and have played a very important role in the supply chain of global electronics industry. JLL pointed out that looking at the industrial real estate market in the North of Vietnam in a number of provinces such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Hai Duong and other Area-1 regions, they cover an industrial development area of about 10,000 ha. Industrial parks in Bac Ninh and Hai Phong have the largest supply of industrial land and standard factories, and are also the areas where many large Taiwanese enterprises are concentrated such as Foxconn, Pegatron, Compal and other large manufacturers. The North of Vietnam has an average occupancy rate of more than 80% of industrial land, and standard factories are even more than 95% occupied. Rents also increase due to high rental demand.

This time, Bac Ninh province, was the only local representative of Vietnam to attend the Forum including Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Head of Bac Ninh’s Industrial Zones Authority and Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Director of Bac Ninh Department of Construction on behalf of Bac Ninh province's leaders. Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Authority introduced the investment environment of Bac Ninh province to Taiwanese investors. According to Mr. Phuc, in Bac Ninh province, there are 90 Taiwanese investment projects with a total investment capital of nearly 1 billion USD. Taiwan's FDI projects are mainly in the fields of manufacturing electronic components, precision mechanics, service and civil industries. With a favorable economic and geographical location; a safe, friendly and attractive business environment, along with the successes of investors who have been investing in Bac Ninh, the choice of Bac Ninh as a destination to seek investment opportunities of Taiwanese businesses at that day’s Forum was the right direction, creating many opportunities and potentials for cooperation and development for all parties. During the discussion session on business establishment and investment experience sharing in the North of Vietnam among representatives of large enterprises, KBC's General Director - Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong had an open sharing with Taiwanese delegates and investors presenting at the Forum about industrial park projects that KBC is implementing in the North, about KBC's support and cooperation with big investors such as Foxconn, LG , SLP, etc, especially the firmly relationship between KBC and Taiwanese investors operating in Industrial Park projects that KBC is implementing in Vietnam.

Until now, the Taiwanese market has always been focused by KBC and has been considered as a potential investment market.
